Biography

Ross Gortner Th’03 Th’04 is a former longtime associate director of Thayer School of Engineering’s MEM program, whose service and leadership during his time at Dartmouth have been instrumental to the program’s growth and direction. He served in the role from 2007 to 2020, during which he helped initiate or advance many of MEM’s core programs, including ENGG 390 internships and MEM Corporate Collaboration Council mentoring programs, and provided counsel to Thayer’s dean and MEM leadership. In addition, Ross also served as a lecturer for a course in technology assessment.

Prior to his work with the MEM program, Ross worked in a variety of roles as a mechanical engineer and consultant for transportation modeling, energy, and environmental engineering companies in the Upper Valley and in greater Boston.

Ross earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in physics from Skidmore College, before earning his Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering Management degrees from Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth.
