Tuition for the 2022–2023 academic year is set at $20,229 per term. Tuition is the same whether the student is enrolled in two, three, or four courses. Review the cost of attendance breakdown of college-related expenses.

The MEM degree is typically completed in four academic terms plus one summer internship. The usual enrollment pattern is Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer (Internship/ENGG 390) and Fall. A student who enters in the Fall term usually completes the program 15 months later near the end of the following November.
Most students work on their MEM Project (ENGG 390) during the summer term. Students must enroll for ENGG 390 during the same term as their internship. If a student is not enrolled in any other courses while completing ENGG 390, a partial tuition charge, set at 15% of full term tuition ($3,034 for Summer 2023), is assessed. A student may not enroll in more than one other course while taking ENGG 390. Students should also budget off-campus living expenses for the summer.
Students without their own hospital insurance must purchase a Dartmouth hospital insurance policy. Explore Dartmouth College Health Service costs and details.
